To sum it up, ‘Duranga’ successfully blends multiple genres like romance, drama and action-packed thriller together without getting lost in its complicated plot. It has a captivating and compelling build-up that will keep you guessing. Watch it for the performances, build-up and thought process.

The makers dive into the story right away and you instantly know something is off with Sammit as he keeps watching YouTube videos to learn how to smile and be social. But it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with him. As the story progresses, you get to know about his dangerous past and the fact that Sammit’s real name is Abhishek Banne. He is the son of a serial killer. From the very first episode, Duranga commands your attention and keeps you glued to the screen. The narrative is gripping and fast-paced, which works well for the show.

Duranga, like the Flower of Evil, is packed with twists and turns. For someone who hasn’t watched the show, the ZEE5 series offers something new to the table. The series’ biggest advantage is its length. Unlike the original, which takes time to brew and spends over one hour per episode, Duranga cuts to the chase and limits each episode’s length to 30 mins or so. It is a welcome move for the series and gets the viewers hooked almost immediately.

A few plotholes and logical inconsistencies aside, Duranga on Zee5 is easily the first addictive, binge-worthy and extremely well done Indian web series on psychopaths and serial killers, capturing all their dark and devious quirks with copious layers and edge-of-the-seat suspense.

Duranga Season 1 Story:

It follows the story of Sammit and Ira. Ira begins investigating multiple murders by the suspected acomplice of a serial killer, and this leads her to discover some revelations about her husband’s twisted past. It’s a remake of the Korean drama Flower of Evil.
