Lokesh Kanagaraj has written a story and screenplay which are devoid of novelty. At the end of the day, it is a vendetta drama. The pace is slow at places, when it, therefore, gets boring. The action scenes are fast-paced but it must be added, there is an excess of violence. Dialogues are ordinary.On the whole, Vikram Hit List is too ordinary to make a mark with the Hindi film-going audience. It will be forgotten before long.

Overall, Vikram is a film that has some terrific performances and makes you inquisitive about the Lokesh Kanagaraj universe. Some of the scenes don’t land, but there are plenty to cherish and rejoice in.

Sadly, the narrative loses much of its zing after a point, and the element of thrill and mystery gets lost in inane dramatics. And Kamal remains Kamal (in the course of the runtime, he gets another name and identity) failing to get his once-upon-a-time compelling magic back on the track. He is all swag, and admittedly, his part requires very little acting skills. He is just expected to go guns blazing. But what a waste of a great talent. Loopholes and logical discrepancies are aplenty, but the shots and cuts are lovely, even rhythmic. Girish Gangadharan’s camerawork is top class. Wish the writing had been good and realistic. Suspension of disbelief is past, history. It does not work anymore.

Vikram is a mass entertainer that does not alienate the ones who try to find meat in a film. There is enough to attract you to the theatres and it is all worth. Go book your tickets.

The action scenes, while solidly choreographed, never leave us with a rush. There are a couple of cool shots, like a zoom out and zoom in which Karnan and Amar switch places, but after after a point, the stunts leave us unmoved. In fact, in a film filled with action heroes, the biggest mass moment comes in a stunt scene involving a female character. Vikram needed a few more such moments to have been truly memorable.

Overall, with the writing and performances holding the film high for most parts, the music and cinematography only makes the experience better for us. More importantly, Lokesh has proven that it is possible for Tamil cinema to create a cinematic universe parallel to the cinematic universes of Hollywood. Vikram entertains and engages you well, and is definitely worth watching more than once.

You’ve got to hand it to Lokesh Kanagaraj for bringing back Kamal’s highly-underrated agent Vikram character, three decades later; and using it so effectively in a story that couldn’t have been told better.However, the film does falter at places and isn’t consistently engaging, but it manages to merge key characters from Lokesh’s earlier film Kaithi and sets the stage for what could be Tamil cinema’s biggest franchise in the making. What Lokesh manages to achieve with Vikram, which feels slightly long with nearly a three-hour running time, is to give a new generation of audiences a glimpse of Kamal Haasan’s versatility. It was rewarding to see the veteran shine after a long time.

Overall, director lokesh kanagaraj has given vikram a super comeback film to his guru Kamal Haasan. That scene frenzy that actor surya finally comes across in the role of Rolex. The big thing is that surya has agreed to such a gray shade character. As vikram 3, Prisoner 2, the fans will continue to raise expectations. Vikram .. let’s buy tickets!
