There’s no other way to say this — Acharya lacks the soul it needed to pull off a tale that banks too much on people connecting to the concept of dharma. We all know Koratala Siva, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan can deliver something more than this.

A lot of expectations were riding on director Koratala Siva’s Acharya, which brought together father-son duo Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. In fact, it became a calling card for Acharya. Now that it hit the theatres, did Acharya live up to the hype? Sadly, the answer would be a big NO.

“Acharya” seems to have suffered from long delays and many reshoots. But primarily, the soul is lacking and the narrative is totally boring. In nutshell, watching “Acharya” without falling into sleep mode is difficult.

On the whole, Acharya is a temple town drama that has some good father-son moments. The backdrop is decent but the narration is insipid and does not gives the audience a high. Storywise too, there is no novelty and the electrifying drama one expects from a Koratala film is missing. The regular audience will get disappointed with Acharya but Chiranjeevi and Charan make the fans happy, with their chemistry and solid screen presence.

Overall, Acharya is undoubtedly the weakest work of Koratala Siva by miles. He fails to use the stars at his disposal and gives them a lifeless, dull, and tiring cliched action drama. Even the die-hard fans will find it challenging to sit through the movie in its entirety.
