Teja Sajja does an good job as Veda. He is endearing. Manoj Manchu is menacing in the role of Mahabhir Lama. But a known face would’ve worked better for the Hindi film-going viewers. On the whole, Mirai has some merits, but its very poor start in Hindi is a major dampener. The odd title is another minus point.

The goosebumps-filled climax, integrating action with faith and spirituality, adds up to the engagement quotient of ‘Mirai’. While a few silly one-liners and unnecessary humour do get irritating, yet they do not hamper the pace of the film. The movie is a commendable effort, not just for its entertaining storytelling but for its unconventional and bold vision to create a fantasy saga at par with Hollywood. The film is a must-watch for its genuine depiction of emotion, beliefs, ancient wisdom and philosophy.

Mirai is a smart endeavour in that it knows exactly where it wants to shine, and where it can afford to kick back a little. It’s also a film meant for and originating from the present-day theatre-going culture: it doesn’t necessarily bother going to the depths of its core idea and, in turn, has readied itself to be another franchise that welcomes newer, and potentially bigger, players into its fold. This one, though, puts on a good show despite going through the motions for most parts. Give this a go mainly for the superb action choreography and Gowra Hari’s thumping score.

The story of Mirai beautifully blends the history and dharma of Indian culture through a fictional story, which not only makes you smile but also makes you proud. Director Karthik Gattamneni has done a brilliant job as a director and handled this beautiful and sensitive subject with love and finesse. On the whole, Mirai should be watched on the big screen with family and friends.

There is the common VFX overkill aesthetic that is present throughout and it overshows the way action is staged. There are sparks of inspired imagery and artistry like the pre-interval action block that slowly builds momentum but the film does not sustain it. Mirai is an ambitious, but lazily timid visual effects overkill that squanders away potential with an undercooked early draft screenplay that needed rework.

On the whole, Mirai is a thrilling fantasy adventure that seamlessly blends mythological grandeur with modern storytelling. Teja Sajja anchors the film with a magnetic performance. Manchu Manoj dominates the screen as Mahabir, exuding menace and intensity, while Shriya Saran adds emotional depth that elevates crucial moments. The technical brilliance, including Gowra Hari’s electrifying score, Karthik Gattamneni’s stunning cinematography, and polished VFX, turns several sequences into spectacular cinematic set pieces. While the first half is somewhat predictable and the climax feels underwhelming, Mirai more than makes up for it with racy storytelling, high-voltage action, and mesmerising mythological sequences that keep viewers hooked throughout.

Overall, Mirai entertains with its consistent pace, strong performances, and technical finesse. Despite the predictability of the second half, the film’s spectacular visuals and imaginative storytelling make it a worthwhile theatrical experience — a true visual spectacle that blends mythology and fantasy.
