Heart Attack Telugu Movie Review

The entire first half of the movie is designed to be a build up to an impending lip lock. Since setting his eyes on a bandana clad Hayati at a picturesque port side in Spain, Varun is consumed by the desire to, well, kiss her. “I want a deep lip kiss,” he says flatly in their second meeting barely a day after faking a heart attack to get hold of her phone number. Note: It like one long sight gag with plenty of breathtaking visuals and pleasant music, you’ll be fine as long as you don’t try to make sense of it all.

Heart Attack is one of the few Puri Jagan’s films where the characterization of hero is consistently and convincingly maintained from the first frame to last frame. It is also probably one of the few films where the entire story is set outside AP. Puri Jagan takes a lot of risk and sticks to his story and characterizations without bothering for other commercial aspects. Liking or disliking this movie depends on how you connect and travel with the character of hero in the film. This is the best stylized movie done by Puri Jagan so far. We have to wait and see how Telugu audiences embrace the movie.

The film takes off with a colorful backdrop and the fun factor is there for a while but after twenty minutes the energy and pace slows down. The interval bang was alright so second half was crucial. However, due to lack of emotional peaks and wrong placement of songs, the momentum got affected. Overall, the film had positives to catch in bits and pieces, and it can be a time pass treat. Bottomline: Not Painless, But Less Pain

While the first half is like a romantic-comedy, the second half has its share of loud dialogues and Varun’s macabre side dominating the mind space. ‘Heart Attack’ hit the screens as a favorite this season. The film doesn’t disappoint and lives up to the expectations. Nithin was never seen in a character sporting a domineering attitude in the past. He spouts a few typical Puri-isms here and there. The lines do not evoke much interest, given that they remind one of some of Puri’s previous male leads. Although the fights could have been imaginative, Nithin’s energy levels appeal.

The first half of the movie was light hearted in parts due to the love and hate scenes between the lead pair and the story took some time to gather some pace with a parallel action narrative hogging the limelight, but that was the only point that formed the core of the script. Other than that the movie looked pretty ordinary for Puri’s standards. Overall the movie can be enjoyed in bits and pieces especially in the first half, while the second half loses steam big time.

Puri Jagannadh chose a romantic love story this time. Unfortunately, the script is routine and the screenplay is flat. Puri is also known for good dialogues, but the dialogues in this movie are not impressive. Editing is good. The big plus for the movie is Music and background score. Anup Rubens is at his best. Amol Rathod cinematography is top notch. Ram Laxman fights are highlight for the movie.
