An intense love story built on two strong pillars – drama and music… Director MilapMilanZaveri skillfully weaves love, pain, and passion into the narrative, resulting in a compelling watch. Known for mass entertainers, MilapMilanZaveri delivers a passionate tale of love, heartbreak, and obsession that keeps you invested for the most part… The protagonist’s obsessive streak evokes memories of Darr, while the heroine embodies the age-old saying – Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

On the whole, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is a weak fare and will not be able to sustain at the ticket windows after the Diwali festive holidays in spite of super-hit music. However, considering its super-hit music and its reasonable cost and also its appeal for the masses, the chances of the film are not lost completely. Average to good-average.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat isn’t subtle, but it doesn’t try to be. It’s a full-blown ode to passionate love and heartbreak, designed for those who like their romance larger-than-life. With a slightly higher budget, it could’ve looked grander—but even as it stands, it’s a compelling watch for fans of intense romantic dramas.

On the whole, EDKD strives to rekindle a bygone era of love—one where intensity often overshadowed logic and passion flirted with obsession. Much like Saiyaara, it doesn’t venture into new territory, yet it finds its footing with those who still cherish melodrama laced with nostalgia. For audiences drawn to raw emotion, vintage-style romance, and the smouldering chemistry of two charismatic leads, the film offers moments worth holding onto. But for others, it remains a one-time watch to revive memories of the bygone era.

When you watch Milap Zaveri’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, you wonder did the director himself saw the film or if it was just an intern who decided to take the call. Zaveri has tried to take the Arjun Reddy route, but ends up bringing out the cringiest film of the year. Dialogues, logic, direction

Harshvardhan Rane’s Vikramaditya Bhonsle in ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ joins the club of onscreen toxic men alongside Kabir Singh and Ranvijay (Animal). He doesn’t take no for an answer from the woman he claims to love and plays every trick in the book to win her over. The woman in question, superstar Adaa Randhawa (Sonam Bajwa), takes an even more drastic, and frankly absurd, step to stop him. Without giving away spoilers, it’s probably the most ridiculous solution an educated woman with agency could come up with.

Well, honestly, his idea of a hero is more absurd than the collective nonsense of all the villains of this decade! There, that is my headline! 1.5 stars! Just for the effort that goes into making a film!

The most lenient thing that can be said about this romantic saga is that it gives Rane a platform he always yearned for. But the film that he has chosen or that chose him feels 30 years too late despite the success of obsessive (read obnoxious) lovers like Kabir Singh and Kundan. Post Saiyaara, it’s great to see romance coming back and filmmakers taking a break from bloodshed and breaking bones. But if romance means Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, let’s break some bones then.
