In conclusion, “Hi Nanna” falls short as a sentimental drama. The film would have been monotonous if not for the songs. Thankfully, the songs and a couple of touching scenes manage to sustain some interest. Apart from this, the performances of Nani and Mrunal Thakur kept engaging. This is a potential story to be made into a tightly packed, emotionally entertaining film, but the mistakes in narrative flow and the suboptimal utilization of actors marred the desired outcome. Slow narration and familiar sequences contribute to the negative aspects of the film, which otherwise would be a feel-good emotional treat.

The box office fate of the movie is too early to guess. Lack of entertainment could be a factor in deciding the immediate appeal of the movie. But why Telugu film directors €” stuck up on commercial entertainment in the last few years €” not making emotionally charged films like these? Nani should be appreciated for choosing such content (after Jersey). Hi Nanna is a decent, must watch for families this week.

On the whole, Hi Nanna is a decent family drama that has some good emotional moments. Nani, Mrunal Thakur, and Baby Kiara Khanna are good in their respective roles. The storyline and songs are the biggest assets of Hi Nanna. However, the pacing is a bit slow, and the movie might not be overwhelming to the mass audience. A few portions needed a better presentation. If you love watching emotional dramas, you can comfortably watch this film this weekend.
