Get ready for a 1980s-style masala entertainer… The focus is on fun, laughter, nostalgia, and larger-than-life entertainment – not logic or reasoning… Several jokes land effectively, though the post-interval portions feel stretched.WTTJ is aimed at the masses… Bollywood has largely forgotten how to create entertainers that connect with audiences beyond the metros – the heartland and mass pockets in particular… This one is for them.WTTJ is tailored for audiences who simply want to smile, laugh, and have a good time – logic be damned.

Welcome To The Jungle works more than it doesn’t due to its self-awareness. It’s a film that fully commits to its idiocy. It stops at nothing. It halts at nothing. We may not take back anything. But a smile amid the time of gloom also works if you can’t entirely guffaw.

The biggest problem with Welcome to the Jungle isn’t that it’s stupid. Plenty of great comedies are gloriously stupid. The original Welcome certainly was. The difference is that beneath all the madness, there was writing. Here, there is mostly movement.

Basically, Welcome To The Jungle throws everything at the wall, right from meta humour, slapstick and nostalgia to action and gibberish, and somehow, enough of it sticks. There’s nothing that lies beneath the noise and it may not make sense, but then again, sense was never really the point. It works best when you surrender to its wild, logic-defying energy and simply go along for the ride.
