Maruthi’s direction leaves something to be desired. His narration doesn’t make the audience feel as though they are a part of the drama. On the whole, The Rajasaab is such a poor show that it stands no chance at the Hindi box-office. Considering its heavy cost, the film will entail huge losses to all concerned.Publicity: fair. Opening: ordinary. …….Also released all over. Opening was average at places and dull at others

There is nothing remotely majestic about The Raja Saab, a mangled horror fantasy that borders awkwardly on the comedic and is frequently in danger of making a laughing stock of itself. Matters are aggravated manifold by the film’s inordinate length, which only serves to take it further and further away from where it should have ended up.The Raja Saab, the tale of a good boy, a granny, a Gothic mansion, a ghost and three girls, is a royal mess. Only for Prabhas fans

The RajaSaab shows streaks of promise when it showcases the involvement of hypnosis and exorcism. But they are just namedropped without exploring their full potential. Prabhas’s comedy timing works in places, and the hospital scene is an example of how to elevate a staple idea into an innovative concept. Apart from one or two places, The RajaSaab hardly ever make use of even the basics.

This lack of self-awareness eventually hurts the film itself, as even Prabhas’ affable presence and a unique ‘mass’ idea couldn’t save it from spiraling out of control. At the most, it offers a small selection of scenes featuring the superstar in a most relatable form, and that may be the film’s only lasting impression.

On the whole, The Raja Saab is a horror fantasy that works only in bits and never comes together as a cohesive whole. Prabhas’ attempt at comedy is sincere but inconsistent. The female characters are underwritten, while pacing issues, tonal imbalance, and weak storytelling weigh the film down. Though the second half offers a few engaging moments, they are too sparse to elevate the overall experience. The comedy works sporadically, making this film suitable only for die-hard Prabhas fans or viewers inclined toward the genre, provided expectations are kept firmly in check.

Prabhas’ attempt to come up with a lighter vein film among the big-budget extravagant movies he’s doing, ended up being neither a comedy film, nor a horror film. Overall, The Raja Saab, is uninspiring, unexciting and uninteresting. The film may find it very difficult to sustain even for a few days at the box office. A forgettable film for Prabhas, Maruthi and team.

In “The Raja Saab,” Maruthi’s core idea holds promise, but the execution falters mainly. The lack of genuine horror elements and the absence of his trademark comic timing are clearly felt. The old-style romantic tracks and flirtatious sequences further dilute the narrative. The film comes alive in the final half hour, particularly during the mind-game-driven sequences but overall, The Raja Saab fails to reign either as a horror or as a comedy.

The Raja Saab aspires to be many things — comedy, horror, fantasy, romance—but ends up being none of them effectively. What was intended as a lighter detour for Prabhas turns into an exhausting, unfocused spectacle. Despite moments of promise, the film collapses under poor writing, overambition, and lack of narrative discipline.
