Nee Jathaga Nenundali is a faithful remake of Aashiqui 2 sans the dazzling chemistry between the lead actors, which made the original film work in the first place. While the music has been retained in the Telugu version, along with every other scene, the film still feels incredibly bland and uninspiring. Nee Jathaga Nenudaali is just plain depressing, which feels longer than it is. Almost like a bad hangover.

In short, the film is a test to the patience of the audience. If you have already watched the Bollywood version, then stay warned that Nee Jataga Nenundaali will totally disappoint you. In fact, you might end up watching Aashiqui 2 and listening to the songs all over again after watching Nee Jataga Nenundaali. But if you haven’t watched the original, you might end up feeling that both the films are total waste of time and energy. Bottomline: We can’t feel their love!

Nee Jathaga Nenundalli is more of a rehash than remake. Soulful music, High-end Production values and Cinematography Nee Jathaga Nenundali had its chances but the predictability, poor translation, worst performances and the pointless lyrics in the film kill them ruthlessly. The problem is not that the storyline is inspired, but the issue is with the overall handling. The pace of the film is so slow throughout and is always interrupted by songs with meaningless lyrics. The dialogues are poorly written and wafer thin script has nothing much to offer. In amovie like this one needs to feel for their love and romantic world. But sadly it never really happens. The proceedings remain dull and drab leading the audience to point of vexation.

Nee Jathaga Nenundali ruins the original on many levels and most of the blame should go to its lead pair. It is hard to enjoy the songs in NJN if you are a fan of Aashiqui 2 songs. All the songs have that dubbing flavor which won’t let you enjoy the soulful melodies. Nee Jathaga Nenundali is not recommended if you have seen Aashiqui 2. It is also not recommended to those who have not seen the original. Better watch the home edition of Aashiqui 2 than seeing this remake that is not even half of it. Verdict: A Remake Gone Wrong!

On the whole, Ne Jataga Nenundali is no way close to the original. But what works for this film is the stunning music and superb production values. If you go in without expectations and Aashique 2 in mind, you might end up bearing this typical multiplex kind of a film.
