Ra Ra… Krishnayya Telugu Movie Review

this film is a ‘freemake’ of the Riteish Deshmukh – Genelia-starrer Tere Naal Love Hogaya. The problem with the movie is that the gags just don’t come off. Despite the over the top histrionics that Jagapathy Babu brings to his character, it all just looks too forced. Same is the case with Tanikella Bharani who flaunts a very forced Tamil accent. The comedy track involving Thagubothu Ramesh is funny in parts but largely on the expected lines. He’s always playing the same drunkard act isn’t he?

First half of the film is dry. Second half is alright. Plus points of the film are performances and second. An engaging first half would have set the right mood. The liplock in the climax which guaranteed an A certificate is pretty good. But the irony is that the couple do liplock in front of kids on screen (and kids are not allowed to watch it in theaters). We have to wait and see how movie lovers like it!

One waits for the film to pick pace and turn interesting at every twist and turn. But the audiences only end up being bored as the script progresses as the director has failed to make the story and presentation gripping. The film shifts from Chennai to Kerala and there are lots of chase sequences. Yet, it does not amuse the audience. Though the title is Ra Ra Krishnaiah, it would be barely two weeks before the film is rejected by the audience saying ‘po ra Krishnaiah’. If you get tempted to watch Sundeep Kishan and Regina, then let us warn you, watch it at your own risk!

On the whole, Ra Ra Krishnayya basically works in parts. After an interesting and engaging first half, the second half disappoints you slightly. If you go in to this film without much expectations, you will surely love Sundeep Kishan and Regina’s sizzling chemistry, and the beautiful songs.
