But, Naiyaandi turns out to be a really predictable affair for most of its running time, with the second half offering some solace thanks to the hilarious histrionics of Sreeman and Sathyan. On final analysis, though Naiyaandi brims with good technical values and a solid star cast, the novelty factor in the movie is minimal. When names such as Dhanush and Sargunam are associated with a movie, expectations are naturally high but Naiyaandi’s brand of family entertainment is one that has been seen plenty of times.Verdict: Naiyaandi provides a few laughs but is nothing that you have not seen before.

Naiyaandi cannot even boast of a strong plot. The youngest of three bachelor brothers, Mr Bug causes envy in the other two, past their so-called marriageable age, when he bags Miss Rose after “antics’, hardly unlikely to floor any modern girl. But Sarkunam, who has penned the story and screenplay, is all set to direct the love affair in a singularly predictable manner and through hard-to-believe situations. See Naiyaandi if you must, but leave your thinking cap at home.

Regarding the much talked about controversial scenes, there are exactly 3 belly button scenes in the “Inikka” song. One would wonder why did Nazriya make so much fuss and noise about such a trivial issue. Earlier this week, Naiyaandi had the lowest buzz among recent Dhanush starrer movies. Director and producer should thank Nazriya for creating a mountain out of mole-hill. Without Nazriya’s contributions in stoking the fire, the movie would have sunk even without take-off due to poor word-of-mouth expected post release.Final Word : “Naiyaandi” is on YOU.

Dhanush and Nazriya looked superb on screen, while Dhanush is truly wasted and has not many scenes to impose his performance in real. It seems to be director Sargunam’s only motto is to bring down audiences laughs, but in actual many of them even did not smile. Soori, Imman Anachi, Sriman and Sathya steal the show with witty one-liners and comic acts. Songs and cinematography are added positives of Naiyaandi. Final Verdict: Unexpected depiction from National Award Winners…
