With a power-packed screenplay, with enough twists and turns to make your head spin, Magizh Thirumeni’s Meaghamann is high on suspense and drama. That coupled with deft direction and good all round performance, makes the film worth watching

Meaghamann would work better for action film buffs, and a few scenes are pretty hard-core and intense. Go watch Meaghamann if you are excited by the idea of a serious action film with some style and intelligence. Magizh Thirumeni’s screenplay is plausible with the right cinematic liberties. Verdict: A slick action flick.

The movie is all about the drug dealings which go around Goa. The first half of the movie is very slow but picks up speed in the second half. Arya had done a good job in the movie but Hansika could have given a few more scenes to show case her character. Meagamann, the undercover gangster fails to be the captain of the ship.

The mass moments in the film click. As always the lead up to these moments are what do the trick and that has been take care of. But what hurts are the action sequences that follow. It all happens too easily and too fast. For a mafia that operates with utmost caution behind even every half step, the climax with the henchmen with no gun at their disposal and coming in turns to get beaten up is a mockery. Meaghamann is an engaging action drama that unfolds with interest. But the ease with which the hero vanquishes his nemesis in the climax leaves you with a half filled stomach.

Meaghamann is a passable undercover cop film, which is devoid of distinguished moments. There are also plenty of logical loopholes in the film, with the director taking his share of cinematic liberties as well. As always, the climax ends with a predictable fight sequence and the goons don’t use their pistols. On the other hands, thanks to the running time of just around 2 hours and 20 minutes, the movie doesn’t test your patience much. Had the director concentrated on making the screenplay more exciting, the end product could have been much better.
