Raja Rani Tamil Movie Review

Though there are many thought-provoking dialogues in the film, it also has many tired cliché ridden dialogues of how women are responsible for the driving men to drink. Debutant director Atlee’s Raja Rani is a simple refreshing tale about how to cope with life, when we lose someone we love. The film has a lot going for it and definitely succeeds in entertaining the audience.

To sum up, though the second half of Raja Rani moves along predictable lines, it’s still a promising debut by Atlee. Atlee has ably handled a pure romantic film with so many seasoned actors on board and joins the list of promising directors to have made their debut this year. Verdict: With the cast and crew capably delivering the goods, Raja Rani spells classy romance.

The film does remind the viewers of Mani Ratnam’s classic Mounaragam, but the director has cleverly tweaked the script in a different fashion. G V Prakash Kumar’s music is average, while debutante George C Williams’s cinematography deserves special mention. To sum it up, it’s a refreshing tale of lost and found romance.

From the word go, Raja Rani draws your attention. Arya and Nayantara’s fights, their hate and love will keep you hooked to your seat. Raja Rani is packed with emotional moments, romantic scenes and comic sequences. The only drawback of the story is that in a bid to tell two love stories, the director doesn’t give sufficient time to blossom the main love story. No worries, as the audience won’t complain.Verdict: Raja Rani is a must watch for family audience and youths. No doubt, AR Murugadoss has a winner in hand.

Raja Rani has it all good looking stars, big budget, rich look, peppy music, technically glitzy and popular comedian and his bar dance. In short all the trappings of a commercial potboiler but lacks a solid script. The trouble with the film is the weak story which can be told in one-line but runs for nearly three hours. On the downside, the emotions too are contrived and there are no smart dialogues. On the whole, Raja Rani is a film with many merits, but alas it fails to hold it all together. Two hours and forty five minutes have never felt longer.

Raja Rani is the story of a couple forced into marriage and the consequences and inside stories that took place.Going by what the trailer showed, one can easily guess the story of Raja Rani. But there is much more to it. Right from the first scene of the Arya-Nayan wedding, the movie progresses at a speed good enough to keep you pinned to the screen. Even though we have to go through some comical scenes which do not tickle our funny bone, While the first half concentrates on the episodes between Jai and Nayanthara, the second talks about the Arya-Nazriya story, which is followed by a well-etched final 30 minutes  Raja Rani will leave you with a good feeling, while showcasing the realistic truth about love.
