Rio 2 grossed $933,362 at  470 screens in India.
or Rs 5.78 Crores gross.
This is equivalent to around Rs 4 crore Nett

While this is pretty low even for an english movie in India it is still the second highest opening ever for an english animation movie in India behind Ice Age: Continental Drift

Rio 2 has an opening which is better than the original Rio in India.

The original Rio had an opening weekend of $585,744 and went on to gross $2.47 Million or Rs 14.83 crores gross in India.

Worldwide Rio 2 has already grossed $163 Million
