The story has it’s heart in the right place. Chiranjeevi does the needful to play an a son of the soil, who is heading a motley bunch of old men who don’t want to part with their land. Tarun, Anjala Zaveri’s husband plays the vicious corporate honcho who wants to set up a factory on their farm lands, albeit a little too under-whelmingly. The action and drama bits are alright, as are some bits of the comedy tracks that involve a barrage of funny men — Ali, Brahmanandam and Posani. But does it all come together as a film? We aren’t sure. But yes, Chiranjeevi is back for sure, albeit.

In contrast to Shankar’s straightforward methods, Kaththi Seenu uses tact and brawn to take on corporate might and alongside, draw the attention of urban dwellers.Within the well-intended story, there are yawning gaps and broad comments of all corporates being evil. The narrative moves at a swift pace and the package is entertaining, which lets one overlook the flaws. When the frenzy around the number 150 dies down and if the superstar is willing to look beyond formulaic fare, there’s a worthwhile actor in him still waiting to be tapped.

I haven’t seen the original film Kaththi. First half of the film is nicely balanced with entertainment and content. Second half gets into serious mode as the story intensifies. Plus points are Chiranjeevi’s extraordinary comeback, nice story line and thought-provoking dialogues for farmers. On the flipside, the narration should have been more organic. On a whole, Khaidi No. 150 is a feast for fans and a decent movie for the rest.

There are many flaws in the story too and the climax is not convincing at all. Also, megastar looks overweight in the beginning scenes. There is lot of difference in his looks throughout the film. Over all, “Khaidi No 150” is a film that has some nice mass moments and has dealt on a topical issue with cliched script. It is Chiru’s act that works rather than the content of the movie.

Of course, there are some minor misses, the first half is tad slow and the post-interval part is where the actual plot exists, which is rushed. The narrative gets a bit predictable too. DSP songs do pump up the narrative but a slight disappointment is that dancer Chiru of Indra and Tagore is quite not in shape for a new step.
