Friday to Saturday saw collections jumping by 31% and it looks like Doctor Strange will cross lifetime total of many hollywod  releases ( Thor , Captain America, Guradians of Galaxy and Ant man) quite comfortably in India.

This is also due to popularity of  Benedict Cumberbatch

Doctor Strange had a limited release in 675 cinemas and 800 screens in India.

This opening is better than that of Ant Man ( 1.03 crore) or Guardians of Galaxy ( 93 Lakhs) in India.

Mumbai and Delhi, Gurgaon along with other metro cities were the major contributors.

Doctor Strange has most of release in only English version with occasional Hindi dubbed shows.

Doctor Strange however remained below Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay in India

Doctor Strange is from Marvel  Studios which has a lot of following in India and Doctor Strange has taken full advantage of that.

In comparison the other intro movies Iron Man had collected $2 Milion gross Thor $ 1 Million and Captain America only $120,000 in lifetime in India.

In USA Doctor Strange has taken an opening of $9..4 Million on Thursday previews setting it up for a $80 Miillion weekend in USA.
