Kangna Ranaut and  Imran Khan starrer Katti Batti collected decently at India Box Office

Day 1 Box Office Collection:
5.28 Crore nett Producer Figure
5.22 Crore nett (trade figure)

This is lower than Hero’s opening day last week which was directed by the same director but was promoted by Salman Khan

Katti Batti had opened to a low start of 15-20% in the opening shows but picked up in evening shows in metros
Katti Batti’s opening is lower than that of Bombay Velvet
1.) In her career this is Kangna’s Ranaut’s 8th highest opening day . Kangna’s highest opening day has been Krrish, Kites and Tanu Weds Manu Returns
2.) In his career this is Imran Khan’s  7th highest opening day as the opening day numbers are lower than his Ek Main aur Ek tu  his highest till date has been Once upon a Time in Mumbai Dobara
3) For director Nikhil advani this is his second highest opening day of his career. His highest was last week’s Hero
4.) Katti Batti  is 17th highest opening day of 2015 as the numbers are lower than both Piku and Bombay Velvet’s opening day

Katti Batti is a proper multiplex movie and has very little appeal outside of top cities the core areas for this movie remained Mumbai City, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon and Bangalore.
This movie was completely riding on Kangna Ranaut as the main lead Imran Khan has completely lost his following by doing box office disasters  like Ek main Ek Tu and Gori Tere Pyar Mein.
Director  Nikhil Advani is also known for giving box office disasters after his only success Kal Ho Na Ho which was a long time ago
Katti Batti  will completely depends on Saturday growth to see if it can survive at the box office.
The reviews are negative and being an urban movie this might be one of those rare scenarios when they might affect its box office.

Katti Batti Budget:

36 Crores total

24 Crores Production Cost  and 12 Crores Prints and advertising cost
With Kangna Ranaut demanding higher salaries the cost of her movies have now started to go much higher as compared to before and needs to do higher business to be a hit.
Katti Batti’s Budget is 1.5 times that of Kangna’s sleeper hit Queen.
