Terminator Genisys collected Rs 3.02 Crore nett inclusive all languages (Hindi, english, Tamil, telugu) and all versions (3d,2d) on its first day at india box office.
In gross this is equivalent to 6.1 Crore gross
Terminator was released on 750 screens
Unlike avengers and Fast and Furious 7 Terminator Genisys did not went for a wide release and stayed away from screens having below 2k technology release which limited its collection.
Screens having technology below 2k are more susceptible to piracy and hence are avoided by major Hollywood studios.
Total Budget of Terminator Genisys is $170 Million
Worldwide Terminator Genisys has collected $43 Million worldwide so far with $15 Million in USA.
Terminator Genisys is also estimated to make $45 Million in its opening weekend in USA.
Terminator series is also very popular in india with TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES grossing $2.16 Million in India way back in 2003.
This is fourth major opening for a hollywood movie in India with Jurassic World still continuing to do well in India and Fast and Furious 7 and Avengers creating records in India
Overall this year marks the rise of hollywood in India and if this continues in next 5 years big budget hollywood movies will take opening at same levels as Khan movies in India.
