Gabbar Singh Telugu Movie Review

Ratings:3.5/5 Reviewer:Jeevi Site:Idlebrain

First half of the film is highly entertaining. Second half has some story. Looks like this film is made with the sole purpose of entertainment with a workable script. Plus points of the film are Pawan Kalyan’s never-before entertainment, Harish Shankar’s dialogues and characterization. The negative points are hurried climax and inadequate screenplay in the second half. The hero is more powerful than villain, hence the hero vs villain thread is weak. On a whole, Gabbar Singh is a good mass entertainer and will satisfy fans and general crowds alike.I haven’t liked Pawan Kalyan’s movies post Kushi as he didn’t try to do appealing films to general crowds (Jalsa was a slight abberation). Gabbar Singh is one film I liked after Kushi. It doesn’t mean that I am completely satisfied, but it’s good. There are a few drawbacks in the movie, but Pawan Kalyan made sure that he is the sole reason for you to watch the movie and get entertained.

One cannot say Gabbar Singh is said to be a remake of the Hindi film Dabang but director Harish Shankar while sticking to the main plot, has adapted it considerably and made it look like a different product. It’s distinctly a Pawan Kalyan film made for the hero by a director who seems to be in awe of him.Increasingly films are being made in Telugu keeping the hero’s image and fans in mind. Gabbar Singh is one such, catering to the fans of the hero and only incidentally to the general audience. Entertaining it may be, but Gabbar Singh is filled with violence and some vulgarity and not meant for the very young audience.

Despite the fact that this is a remake of the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Dabangg’, Harish has ensured that the story conversion happened in the right proportion and it suits the native taste of the audience.Gabbar Singh’ is a product which has the right mix of Pawanism, comedy, sentiment, romance and action. Perhaps the only hiccup in the film was the climax which ended on a rather quick note. Though the voltage was less, the entire energy throughout the film was maintained and due credit must be given to the screenplay and dialogues. While there are many counters and punch lines which must be enjoyed in the theatres only, the film stands as a true example for an apt formula film which will fill the stomach of the commercial summer audience.

In one phrase, GabbarSingh is a powerpacked mass action comedy commercial entertainer. After a decade, Pawan is going to be on track with GabbarSingh. Except for slow screenplay in some scenes in second half, everything is enetrtaining in this flick. With Pawan’s massive crowd pulling ability and highly entertaining elements in the flick, there is every chance for this filmm to be winner of all summer releases.

Harish Shankar did many changes to Dabangg script and most of his changes work. Screenplay is super racy in the first half and moves at a decent pace in the second hour. First half is filled with humor all the way. It breezes off in no time and the mood at interval point will be ecstatic.Second half is good too, but drags a little bit in the penultimate scenes. Finally a happy ending and everyone would come out with a smile on their face. Gabbar Singh is a complete film that will cater to all the sections. Especially, fans will be mighty pleased to see Pawan Kalyan in full blown powerful role. Antyakshari scene in particular had the audiences in splits.Pawan Kalyan fans have been waiting for so long to see their idol in this type of role. He took more time than needed. But finally he has delivered the goods with Gabbar Singh. Watch it!
