Sri Rama Rajayam Movie Review

First half is good. Second half is emotional. The film really picks up in terms of emotions from the scene where Seeta is left in forest. Bala Krishna and producer Sai Babu should get the huge credit for the risk they have taken. In an era, where the success of a film is measured by punch dialogues, dances, fights and bramhanandam’s comedy, Sri Ramarajyam is a refreshing and a brave film that tells the story as a story. After watching this movie – two people will get enormous respect – Bala Krishna and producer Sai Babu. This film has got music, visuals, emotions and performances in the right proportions. Bapu comes up with an interesting and sensible film in the form of Sri Ramarajyam. Go and watch it!

Any mythological film that connects to the present generation and societal structure only can be made as a commercial venture. This Sri Ramarajyam could have been connected to the present days where divorces are becoming common among couples. The invincible pious love between Rama and Seetha could have been established with right intensity. And the reason why Rama sends Seetha to forest would have been portrayed on screen with perfect conviction that convinces the present day generation those use more logic than emotion. But that was missing completely. Lord Rama’s character was ended up as confused and emotionally driven which cannot be welcomed. The film scores exceedingly well in presentation but suffers significantly in content department. Though the flow was consistent, the peaks lacked the required voltage. Trying to infuse extra and unwanted emotions did extra damage.

Telugu film Sri Ramarajyam works on many accounts — good screenplay by Bapu-Ramana, excellent direction by Bapu, the visual grandeur, great music by Ilairaja, great production values by producer Yalamanchili Sai Babu and fine performances by the actors. This is an epic one in terms of its subject matter and production values. For it’s sheer visual grandeur to the eyes — harking back to the times when such films were made.

In this age when the trend is all about love stories and films with big fights and masala elements, it is a welcome relief to see a film like Sri Rama Rajyam being made. The producer must be complimented for this. The film has rich visual content, good music, sets that are appropriate, graphics and other aspects. The film showcases our rich traditions in an impressive manner. Sri Rama Rajyam is basically the story of the twins Lava and Kusa but the story has been told beautifully and in an engaging and entertaining manner. This is one film that has so many positive things that it makes for a compulsory watch for all sections of the audience. Go and watch the film at the first available opportunity.

Sri Rama Rajyam will cater to the target audience. Everyone should watch this film for soulful music and to recollect the values of Ramayana. The plot of the film has so much melodrama and that should only be the concern for youth to enjoy this film. Family audience and ladies will surely like it.
