Akshay Kumar’s presence seems to have boosted Naam Shabana starring Taapsee Pannu first day collections.

Day 1:
5.12 Crore Producer Figure
4..75 Crore Trade Figure

First Day Collections of Naam Shabana are 6th Highest of 2017 after Raees, Jolly LLb 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Kaabil and Rangoon.

However number of movies released this year is still low so 6th highest doesn’t mean very good so far.

Naam Shabana also has a higher opening day than last week’s Anushka Sharma starrer Phillauri.

Naam Shabana is a prequel to critically acclaimed multiplex oriented Akshay Kumar Baby.

Akshay Kumar’s baby itself was not a huge hit but had done pretty good business However baby didn’t had enough pull in mass areas and was not so successful with its TRPs on television premiere which means that there was not enough of a brand value to give a boost to its prequel.

Naam Shabana Budget

Naam Shabana is made on a budget of Rs 40 Crores all inclusive

Production Cost: 30 Crores

Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crores

Naam Shabana Hit or Flop

Naam Shabana  Needs to cross 50 Crores to be called a hit.

Naam Shabana producers have pre-sold satellite and digital rights to Zee TV and the music rights to T Series but total recovery is less than 10 Crores and may be dependent on box office performance
