From its Second Friday Brothers has grown by 25% which is decent but it is at such a low base.

In its Second week it is doing worse than All Is Well despite being the bigger movie.

The fall has been very sharp from first to second week and between first saturday to second saturday collections are down by 92%.

At this rate it looks unlikely that movie will be able to cross Gabbar is back though it is already 9th highest grosser of 2015.

1.) First Week Box Office Collections of Brothers is 4th Highest first week of 2015 behind
Bajrangi Bhaijaan , ABCD 2 and Tanu Weds Manu Returns ad betetr than Akshay’s last two baby and Gabbar is Back.

2.) This is 3rd Highest First Week ever at box office for Akshay Kumar  behind Rowdy rathore and Holiday.

3.) Brothers is 9th Highest Grossing movie of 2015 and has removed badlapur from the top 10 bollywood movies of 2015  list

Earlier:

With brothers what most exhibitors have been reporting that while youth have flocked the cinemas and have given the opening the families have stayed away from the movie.

Mostly most of the trade has been complaining is that movie is too gruesome and thus have alienated the female audiences and the family.

While appeal to youth ensures that movie takes an opening it is the family audiences which ensures that movie has a longer run which is missing here.

Another aspect which is surprising to trade is that Brothers is a remake of Warrior and Warrior  though was a critically acclaimed movie but was a disaster at the box office.

If you are buying rights and remaking the movie than at least invest in a commercially viable project is the refrain being heard in trade

First Weekend Records:

First Weekend box office collections are 2nd Highest of 2015 behind only Bajrangi Bhaijaan and ahead of ABCD 2, Gabbar is Back and Baby

First Weekend is the biggest ever weekend for Siddharth Malhotra ahead of Ek Villain  which had collected 49.28 Crore.
