Akshay Kumar Boss Music Review

Ratings:4/5 Review By: Joginder Tuteja Site:Rediff

Now this one indeed roars like a Boss. From a film with title like this as well as a setting that is ‘masala’ to the core, one expects not a single dull moment in the soundtrack. And it doesn’t disappoint. The album kick-starts with the groovy title track Boss, which impresses in the very first listening. As it turns out, this soundtrack with multiple composers and lyricists at the helm of affairs turns out to be a largely entertaining affair with quite a few party tracks as well as a couple of soft songs that would go a long way. This one is a winner!

The audio of BOSS may not appeal to the purists but packs quite a punch, especially for the Gen X and party animals and most of the numbers are bound to get popular. Our pick is the ‘Boss’ title track and ‘Party All Night’. The songs will surely climb the charts (in fact the BOSS title track is already being heard) and should provide the film with a good opening when it releases all over on 18th October.

All in all Boss not only delivers great tracks that will keep the music channels and club DJs busy but also delivers tracks that is sure to strike a chord with the more serious music lovers. Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta, both versions, are without a doubt the highlight of the album however nonetheless the other tracks impress quite a bit. Apart from the Boss remix there really isn’t one track that you’d warn someone to ‘next’ when it comes on their iPod and that in itself means that the musical team of the album has done their job right. Definitely a must listen!

Not so in distant past, Akshay Kumar movies had melodious songs that found a place in the playlists long after the movie was removed from the theatres. The number of such songs is dwindling fast with each release that hits the silver screen. Just like story, action and comedy, the music too in his movies is getting repetitive. The latest offering titled Boss is no different. Set in Haryana, all the numbers reflect this in some way or the other. If the music is played some months after the movie is out of theatre, it would be Yo Yo Honey Singh numbers in the album and not those composed by Meet Bros Anjjan.
