This is your typical disaster movie. It’s a shame though, that five years after the film ‘2012’, Hollywood has not learned much. The only good thing about it is the 4D. It’s only entertaining when you watch it in 4D. Because on a normal screen, it’s just another one of those movies where there is so much destruction and so little story, you literally stop caring whether the world ends or not. Although you definitely want what’s playing on the screen to end!

Geostorm is a disaster movie from the 90s that somehow made its way in theaters today. That may or may not be a good thing depending on your proclivity towards campy fun. Take all the silliness from Roland Emmerich movies, saut© with a generous helping of ludicrous attempts at social commentary and you get this gem of a movie. The special effects are all right but in an era where CGI is so commonplace theres little here that holds your attention. Moreover weve seen this stuff before in films like Twister and 2012. The real problem with the film isnt that it is dumb, its that it isnt nearly dumb enough to warrant a recco.

Geostorm, for close to two agonising hours, routinely makes the wrong choices. Its dull, too earnest for its own good, and like Gerard Butlers 2016 gem Gods of Egypt, completely unaware of its own silliness. For Gods sake, its a movie in which a Scotsman, an Englishman and an Australian play Americans, an Irishman plays an Englishman, an Egyptian plays a Frenchman, and an American plays an Indian. Come. On.
