Dhoom 3 Music ( Songs) Review

Ratings:3.5/5 Review By: Joginder Tuteja Site:Rediff

While Dhoom and Dhoom 2 had chartbusting music, a major chunk of the credit for the success of the films goes to the title song created by Pritam. The trademark sound of Dhoom is the biggest draw of the Dhoom 3 soundtrack as well. Pritam and Julius Packiam work in tandem to keep the listener engaged and revelling in the sound all over again. Meanwhile, there are songs like Tu Hi Junoon, Malang and Kamli that round off Dhoom 3 beautifully.

Overall Dhoom 3‘s music manages to rank at a little above average for me. The heart wrenching Bandey Hai Hum Uske and majestic Malang casting the spell on me and because of those stirring songs Dhoom 3‘s music ranked higher for me. The tap music was slickly done but will be unable to gather a mass liking unfortunately. Overall it might not be the best album Pritam has come up with, but two really interesting compositions makes the album scrupulous me! A noteworthy effort for sure!

Largely, Dhoom:3 is once again a hardcore commercial album, as has been the case with it’s preceding versions. This album doesn’t have tracks that will straight away appeal to you, and much like Krrish 3, the music of Dhoom:3 tastes more like 2004, than 2014. The music surely does not spell doom! Go ahead, and check it out for yourself.

Dhoom 3 is another Pritam special: two or three usual standouts and a lazy bunch of other tunes that cannot muster up much energy or long-term appeal after the movie’s release. This is a bit of a disappointing album considering the expectations, and that Pritam has been composing for the franchise all these years.

The musical score of DHOOM 3 has some classy compositions and ”Malang ” and the Dhoom Tap and Overture are our picks. However the album is too classy and the mass factor that was present in the previous albums of the DHOOM series (making them universally appealing) is clearly missing. The songs will surely gain popularity with time and especially after the film opening to jam packed houses all over next week.
