Bus Stop Telugu Movie Review

Ratings:3/5 Reviewer:Karthik Pasupulate Site:Times of India (TOI)

Every now and then in Tollywood we have a movie that rants about the ‘generation gap’ which has nothing new to say on the subject though. This is one such. But what this movie does offer is truckloads of suggestive humour, of the (for the lack of a better word) ‘anal’ variety. Hey but then it’s an A-rated film, some cheesy s** jokes must be okay right. Maybe not. Once the dirty jokes are over, it’s time for the message. The second half of the movie gets typically preachy about how parents must behave like friends with their children, how teenagers’ lives can go astray and so on and so forth. Tip-Off: The film is laden with plenty ‘non-vegetarian’ double entendres, so if you are the type who digs into the ‘chikan jokes’ this is the movie for you.

There is some vulgar language and scenes, and the film technique is a little crude. The film explores the love life of four people and their relationships with their parents. The second half is heavy on emotion and is serious compared to the light-hearted first half. The parent-child relationship is constantly stressed. The ensemble casting of young actors and parents carry the show well in terms of acting. Bus Stop is an urban take on what love means to different people—just time-pass or a commitment or just fun. Whatever it is, the urban youth could connect with Bus Stop.

The idea to show that parents are ultimate lovers in the world is impressive, but making that with tons of vulgarity makes the dish bitter. This is a store house of soft porn dialogues, incest hints and loads of vulgarity to the core. It is an adult rated movie targeted to lure the youth by satiating their carnal desires verbally. Though the film attracts some laughs from vulgarity lovers, the director lost the grip on emotions. This film is abominable. It may collect well at the box office as it plays with the senses of teens. The facts are expressed in this review, and even these facts may attract the youth to drive towards the film. It is no less to any D-grade soft porn film with a coating of regional commercial formula.

Bus stop is a youth comedy entertainer. This is Director Maruthi second project after hit film Ee Rojullo, expectation were high on this film and he reaches to the expectations. Youngsters will connect instantly hope it has reached expectations of its targeted audience. The first half of the film will be highly enjoyable for youngsters but it makes uneasy for family audience. First half of ‘Bus Stop’ movie is filled with loads of entertaining episodes with high dosage of double meaning dialogues. The second half has good sentiment value and the climax message is nice. Ee Rojullo and Bus Stop has same type of youth oriented comedy. One can definitely say that the director’s target audiences are only teenagers
