List of Morning Walk Movie Reviews
The high point of the film are the performances. While veterans Anupam and Sharmila display a dignified ardour, Divya Dutta and Rajit Kapoor are compelling as the next-gen moralists who try to cope up with dad’s new relationships. Watch out specially for Divya as the mean and materialistic daughter-in-law who remains a flesh and blood character (read realistic) throughout the film. Morning Walk is indeed a different story, told refreshingly.
From the looks of it, you’d feel that MORNING WALK is about senior citizens/septuagenarians, but director Arup Dutta crams the film with so many sub-plots that the film loses focus. It’s like starting at Churchgate, but instead of heading towards Virar, you end up at Thane. The problem is, the number of unwanted tracks in the film rob the film of the seriousness. Sure, there’re interesting moments, but they’re few and far between. The director is handicapped by a poor script, with the end looking incomplete and confusing. Jeet Ganguli’s music is soothing and easy on the ears.On the whole, MORNING WALK is a dull and dreary experience.
If you are tired of the regular song-and-dance kind of movies and are in the mood for a real story, Morning Walk might just be the thing for you.The characters are well-developed but the sub-plots and badly-timed songs interfere with the main story. The film tends to drag.Yet, Morning Walk provides quite a refreshing change from the masala movies churned out these days. And it actually has a plot!
Even though the two senior actors in this film give wonderful performances, one would hesitate to recommend this film. The characters in this film are unrealistic. The theme of the story held some promise but its execution left much to be desired. Besides, the plot meanders far too much and we are left with a disjointed film.
Morning Walk offers nothing new. The makers aren’t focused with one issue but try to pack in a lot of things together.Arup Dutta has handled few emotional moments well and is technical sound considering it is his debut directorial venture. However he is failed by a lackluster script. The music by Jeet Ganguly is extremely tuneful and worth a buy.Morning Walk is a movie that doesn’t need a trip to the movie hall, but it wont harm you if you catch it on a lazy Sunday noon on home video.
