Can’t really get worse than this, can it? Blame it on recession. Blame it on the producers versus multiplex strike. But this is what happens when old, moth-balled cans are opened. These are essentially old films which found no takers and gathered cobwebs in the warehouses of tinsel town. Their makers hope to find a few takers in this season of drought, irrespective of the quality of the films. Alas! This could just be the beginning of the bad run which could linger till the elections and the IPL are over. Ready for Bollywood’s can of worms?

EK SE BURE DO is a classic example of been there, seen that, moved on. There has been a barrage of nonsensical comedies. Now add one more name to the list. The basic foundation, the story [Tariq], is faulty. Something like this may’ve worked in the 1980s, not today. On the whole, EK SE BURE DO has no chances whatsoever!

What with the two-timing Bossy; Rajpal Yadav and Virendra Saxena in a ‘let’s-see-who-can-be-more-manic’ contest; actresses who look tacky compared to the extras in a Karan Johar film; and the climax on a theatre stage, complete with an Anarkali dancing through the mayhem (don’t even say Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro), this is a movie that sends you home somewhat worried — about your own well-being and that of Hindi cinema. But then, both have survived worse. Next, please.

The first half of the year 2009 shall be always remembered as the worst in terms of content for the Bollywood films released in this period. Just when we thought you can’t get more bad films than what we were subjected since last few weeks – Lottery, Kisse Pyar Karu etc, here comes the long stuck in the cans – Ek Se Bure Do.
