8X10 Tasveer has an average soundtrack with Nazaara Hai being the pick of the lot. The two romantic numbers do not go an extra distance though the sole rap song (I Got The Picture) does make for an interesting hear. Still, if one is looking for a hit soundtrack here, then that is not quite in the anvil.

Easily the best song of the album, “Nazaara hai” sets the adrenalin pumping with its strong musical backing and powerful vocals by Vishal Dadlani of the composer duo Vishal and Shekhar. The number is soaked in the flavour of rock music. The predominance of the electric guitar, especially in the middle of the song, makes it a sure shot hit with music buffs. On the whole, Salim-Sulaiman have kept up their good work in “8×10 Tasveer” and are definitely emerging as one of the best in the business.

When a movie director takes special interest in his film’s soundtrack, it shows. Even more when the filmmaker happens to be a thinking man, as we learned with Anurag Kashyap’s Dev.D and Gulaal. Nagesh Kukunoor has got three (four?) different dudes contributing to the soundtrack of his soon-to-hit-the-theatres Akshay Kumar starrer 8×10 Tasveer.Nagesh Kukunoor’s 8×10 Tasveer has an engaging soundtrack… and thumbs up to the Bohemia track!

When the basic story line of Nagesh’s film was first revealed it was generally assumed that the music would not find much representation during the proceedings in the tense, psychological thriller, except for some fast paced (mainly background tracks). But as they say, appearances can be deceptive! 8×10 TASVEER boasts of some of the best compositions of the year (thus far), namely ”Nazaara Hai”, ”Haafiz Khuda and its versions, ”Aaja Maahi”, and of course the rocking title track by Bohemia… Unfortunately the album has not been promoted as aggressively as it should have been though there is still time and one hopes for a massive turn around in its fortune when (and if!) the film releases on 3rd April.
