HATE STORY-2 director Vishal Pandya amalgamates passionate love making scenes and high-voltage drama in the premise of the new installment, but, at the same time, also makes sure he narrates a new story with the revenge angle. The post-interval portions maintain the grip, but the loose ends do show up intermittently. On the whole, HATE STORY-2 is a riveting saga of a woman's vendetta against the man who wronged her. Additionally, the combo of skin show and melodious music add tremendous value to the project. This film has the potential to woo the masses and the youth, thus springing a big surprise at the ticket window!

Hate Story 2 is a revenge drama on the lines of Rakesh Roshan's Khoon Bhari Maang and Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill movies. What it lacks is an A-grade star cast. Also, this one is slightly more predictable in pattern. However, the doses of erotica added to the screenplay just to give it that gleeful taste work well. So, even if the plot points in this vendetta drama seem asinine, with Surveen, Sunny and s** thrown in, the less pretentious will go home satiated.

Unlike the Paoli Dam-starrer prequel Hate Story, this one is not high on s**. All you have is Sunny Leone's item song Pink Lips so weirdly forced into the plot that it looks like an advertisement. You can watch the film only if you are a die-hard fan of Sushant or Surveen, because nothing else is really worth the time and money.

Under any other circumstances, I would have protested but this second one, directed by Vishal Pandya, in the Hate series is as gutless, brainless, soulless and s**less as the first. Forget logic, novelty or dynamism, Pandya's film doesn't even possess the sentimentality to produce a singular moment of sympathy for its supposedly battered heroine. Chawla's transformation from a strange, stuttering victim to a gun totting avenging angel dodging cops, goons and press is preposterous. A stale plot with flatly executed scenes of retribution and a lacklustre leading lady; Hate Story 2 is too trivial to be erotic or thrilling.

Although, there has been many films based on revenge, Surveen Chawla and Jay Bhanushali's Hate Story 2 offers a fresh presentation with some sizzling romance and freaking brutality. All in all, the film Hate Story 2 can be a good watch for its exotic romance and thrilling revenge. All in all, it’s not a bad film. Which also means that it could have been lot better given that it has a decent plot to fall back on.

Hate Story 2 takes the basic elements of s** and violence from the first film and amplifies it five fold to tell an engaging story. We wish the writers would have paid some more attention to developing the story rather than just using s** and violence to take the plot ahead. Once Surveen gets the ball rolling there's no stopping the onslaught of killing. Also her make up and outfits look a bit jarring in a few frames. If you want to be tiltated and seduced into watching a woman oriented revenge drama with lots of skin show and a Sunny Leone item song, then Hate Story 2 is the ticket to buy.

The high-point of ‘Hate Story’ was the sultry Bengali actress Paoli Dam. She stripped well, and wore her bare skin like a wounded badge of honour. And when she goes after her evil tormentor, we feel like egging her on, because we want to see him bite the dust. Because Dam channeled pain and anger with vigour. ‘Hate Story 2′ has Surveen Chawla playing the woman-on-a-mission with visible effort but not as much impact.

The name Hate Story 2 calls for it – hatred. The film that is essentially a revenge plot is a plodding story that lacks brains. Maintaining the hilarious lines of the prequel, the heavy breathing seductive talk has just gotten worse with this film. The lines are mere trash gems out of some B-grade movies of the past. I wasn’t expecting thunderous work from the film but this film beats the bar of trashy that its prequel had set. If possible this one is worse! Avoid Hate Story 2; it is damp a show!

  1. Hate Story 2 simply is a revenge thriller having Surveen Chawla at the center embarking with her new sexy and bold look. She is seen crossing any limits to take her revenge of losing her boy friend Jay. read more at http://www.justbollywood.in/hate-story-2-review/

  2. Once in a Hindi Learning Class,Sunny Leone was asked to interpret the Hindi Muhavra- Jitni chaadar ho utne per felao ka kya matlab hota hai,Sunny Leone said whenever you see a Bedsheet Just spread your Legs, looks like Surveen Chawla is also working on Sunny Leone's advice that if you want to attract audience just spread your legs wide,

  6. my review of #HateStory2 :
Rotten, regular & regressive revenge drama! [1.5/5]

What do you expect from a vengeance drama that has a woman as its main lead fighting for freedom, justice and right to live & love? At least to have a common courtesy to show the strength, sensibility and sensitivity of a woman in good light at the first place! Vishal Pandya’s HATE STORY 2 fails to remember this very simple logic even when the evil forces [Men, mostly] are not busy disapproving the very existence of this breed, equally responsible and possibly more reliable in the evolution of human race. So, the women here are seen being abused verbally & physically, portrayed as the sex-symbol and a powerless weaker sex pleading for her life. And when not, a ruthless killer with least traces of sensitivity and emotions in her acts of revenge! HATE STORY 2 is a rotten, regular & regressive revenge drama.

Sonika [played by Suvreen Chawla] is a trapped soul in nasty hands of a powerful criminal minded male-chauvinist politician Mandar Mhatre [Sushant Singh in his ‘Saavdhan India’ avatar]. He keeps a check on her regularly and fiercely accepts that he doesn’t care if she actually loves him or not. In hopes to taste freedom, Sonika finds a soul-mate in Akshay [TV Star Jay Bhanushali for the first time on silver screen] but the possessive captor decides to spoil the game if he’s not there in it.

Taking cues from its first part, HATE STORY 2 also relies on thrills and chills of same nature. Thrills based out of action and violence and chills from the sexual objectification of women. Though this time, the intensity is a bit low and driving force in the both lacks the charm to pull any of it better. Looking for logics in the events happening one after other is something foolish to even think of. The transition of Sonika from a horrified victim to a much stronger opponent and a cold-blooded slayer is extremely convenient, unreal and highly dramatic.

Surveen as the lead either screams like her guts out or just keeps her tone in a huskier region sounding like possessed souls in horror flicks from Bhatts. She sure knows the demands of a script and what to put in the showcase. I don’t blame her for that as one of women characters in the film states, “Hum auraton ko humesha karna padta hai”. Jay only impresses with his facial muscles especially when he’s lip-syncing a romantic number. I wish if making faces would make him eligible for any category of awards. Sushant Singh takes full control of all the overstated performances. His ‘baba kehte the’ quotes irritates and infuriates time and again. They all are very inhuman, anti-women and definitely age-old.

To wind up, HATE STORY 2 is a film that has nothing good to say. Neither a plot that is new nor an emotion that has been transported well! It is only meant to tease you and tickle in the lower part of your body to keep ringing the box-office a good amount of return. Avoid it! [1.5/5]

  7. Hate Story 2 is a vendetta driven revenge drama which though begins on a promising note but soon takes the predictable, sassy & routine path failing to pump up your adrenaline levels which is a basic requisite for every good thriller. 8. We all have heard of love stories but what about stories of hatred? I am sure you do not get to hear them very often. And that is why Indian film makers these days are trying to present something like that on the big screen.
‘Hate Story’ was received well by the audiences. And this week we have the second part of the series.

Sonika (Surveen Chawla) is trapped by a strong cum corrupt politician Mandar (Sushant Singh) who uses her for his physical needs. She has lost all hopes of life. Soon, better things start happening when she meets Akshay (Jay Bhanushali) and the two fall in love. Mandar, obviously, does not approve of this and brutally tries to murder the two. Of the two, somehow, Sonali manages to escape her death. Now, she decides to take the revenge!

The biggest problem with ‘Hate Story 2’ is that it is pretty ordinary, predictable at almost every scene. Though the film makers have tried hard but the film is just not able to hold you at your seats. Importantly, there are hardly any moments from the film which are worth taking back home.

Surveen Chawla looks promising, especially in the second half, though she still needs to improve. Sushant Singh is excellent especially at the scenes, in the last 20 minutes, where he is scared of Sonika and trying to avoid almost everyone around. Jay Bhanushali does not have a screen presence of more than 20 minutes.

If songs like ‘Aaj Phir Tumpe’, ‘Hai Dil Ye Mera’ or maybe ‘Pink Lips’ tickled you to watch Hate Story 2, I would better suggest you to watch them on Youtube. Hate Story 2 is just the same old rotten drama!

    Rating- 1.5/5
