In the end, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is a warm and fuzzy comedy that benefits from the insider’s eye that the director casts on this garrulous community, and their love of food and family. At 2 hours and 15 minutes, the film feels bloated and over-long, but stay with it and you won’t regret it.I’m going with three out of five for director Sameer Sharma’s Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. All that talk of food will make you very hungry when the lights come back on again.

On the whole, LUV SHUV TEY CHICKEN KHURANA is a joyride from start to end. The film works because the written material, the execution of the subject and the performances complement each other wonderfully. This delectable dish ought to be savoured for certain!

Sameer Sharma, has an interesting recipe here for wholesome entertainment, with clean comedy (pure vegetarian, if you like!).The story makes our tummies growl too long before a whiff of the real thing. Yes, the cook-time seems a bit much for hungry filmi foodies. This isn't the perfect chicken recipe for your soul, but never mind, it's the simplicity of emotions that fill you up, leaving a good after-taste.So go and chakh loh, your taste buds will slurp it up. Swear on the wishbone!

The dialogues are intelligently written and the humour is witty. Full marks to the director for getting the best out of all the actors. Though the duration is just around two hour and 45 minutes, the film seems to drag and slow down in a few places. It's not every day that Bollywood churns out a tasty dish with the right ingredients. We suggest you taste it!

On the whole, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is good in parts only. Its character actors entertain more than its lead actors although the lead actors have full-fledged roles. Also, it seems to be a case of much ado about very little, if not nothing. Besides, its release during the dull pre-Diwali days will come in the way of realisation of its full box-office potential.

It is an average fare, a film that has its heart in the right place but tries too hard too often. Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana benefits greatly from Sharma's presence, Amit Trivedi's enjoyable score and a funny second half. It's a light-hearted drama that leaves you with a smile, but in the week of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Skyfall, LSTCK is at best a good third choice.

The everydayness of the language in this likeable film is one of its pleasures.Only thing is, the film gets a little inert here and there, not making as much of its stated quirkiness as it should have, it’s one-strand theme getting too stretched over a couple of hours

What’s Good: The excellent music; the very apt casting and performances; the dialogues. What’s Bad: The slow pace; parts of the movie are predictable. It takes a lot to make something as fine and simply enjoyable like Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. Though it takes some time for the flavours to set in and brew, excellent acting and music in the film make it worth the wait.

While the story is simple, the plot takes too much time to establish itself. The first half is solely kept for establishing the sub plots of various characters and the main ‘action’ begins only after the interval. Too many characters, their stories, flashback scenes, and slow pace mar the film’s credibility to quite an extent. The laughs are there, but somehow lack that punch.

  5. I remember, once I had my privilege to taste my mamaji’s ‘khade masala ka mutton’. It’s been more than a decade…and I am yet to find the secret of the recipe and those lip-smacking flavors again on my taste buds. I am sure, you all have yours favorite too when it comes to the best of recipes, one dies to have.

Debutant director Sameer Sharma’s LUV SHUV TEY CHICKEN KHURANA is quite a delicious dish in terms of providing wholesome entertainment for a complete ‘Indian at heart’ family. It has all the vital ingredients like the most sizzling characters who sure resemble with many in your neighborhood or in the native family, aromatic locales & lingos that take you back to your roots and a perfect mix of mild-peppery-spicy moments; only thing that could make you cringe in your seats, is the preparation time to reach till its finale but trust me on this, the more you wait for the food, the better it gets in taste. You will never regret your precious time spent in waiting.

At his first effort, Sameer Sharma scores big in the impressive ‘slice of life’ writing and the casting that never falls flat, not for once-not for even in its least significant characters. Besides the competent kunal Kapoor & huma in the lead, its veteran Vinod Nagpal, Rajesh Sharma as titoo mama, Rahul Bagga as jeet who all make it a feel-good watch for everyone in the family. Rush to the restaurants serving it [the theatres near you] or just wait to try this at home [on satellite telecast/home video] but please have it on your plate [3/5]

  7. Very few parts of fresh Fun. After Debakar Benarji's Masterpiece 'Khosla ka ghosla' , so manny directors tried their hands on same kind of comedy. but no doubt no one even touches that mark.

This movie was promoted also with name of 'Khosla ka ghosla' . but it's not related to Dibakar sir. You will get bored by extra smartness in acting and nonsense situations which are expecting a lough at ur face.
