Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a winning album by all means and has in it to be widely popular in days to come. As expected, the entire soundtrack follows a fun approach without anything becoming overtly mushy or mellow. While Irshad Kamil keeps his poetic instinct aside for most part of the soundtrack and instead gets something out and out massy for popular consumption, composer Sohail Sen can be assured that he would now have a successful soundtrack to his name as well that would find a wide audience for itself. OUR PICK(S) Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Isq Risk, Dhunki, Choomantar

After listening to the tracks of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, we know that the movie is not a serious affair. The songs are kept simple and melody oozes from every note; there is an element of freshness too as it is composed by Sohail Sen, who has just one movie to his credit. And like the soundtrack of any other Yashraj film, this album too has its moments and some hits like Choomantar, Dhunki, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

While Mere Brother Ki Dulhan may not break any new ground or push many boundaries, it’s a fun listen that will DEFINITELY get your feet moving. Sohail Sen has definitely got what it takes to pack some populist punch into a commercial soundtrack – this one definitely won’t be leaving my CD player for a while!

Expectations were high from the soundtrack of Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Mere Brother Ki Dulhan because it was a Yash Raj Films production and the film managed to fulfill those to an extent.Overall, the album is a healthy mix of fun and energy. It is a different attempt from the composer, whose effort is visible in the album.

Sohail Sen has composed some brilliant and some good tracks for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Not all the tracks in the album are brilliant but still has given variety in his work and the music is refreshing too.

  1. I was thinking about programmers when I listened to Haal-e-dil, as Harshit Saxena, an all new composer, completely sounded like Sharib-Toshi and now with Phhir the vice versa happened.

But here Chhoomantar sounded like typical Sohail stuff. Almost like aa le chal mujhe sapnon ke nagar, though, it does matter a lot who programmed them. I still think music arrangers are the most uncredited species at present. Will check out n let u know.
