Though the intentions of GANDHI TO HITLER are right -- it spreads the message of peace, which is so relevant in today's context when the world continues to tackle the dark clouds of terrorism -- the execution of the subject is so amateurish that it leaves you distraught. After a messed up first hour, the film tries to find rhythm and focus in its post-interval portions, but barring a scene or two, it doesn't register an impact. On the whole, GANDHI TO HITLER fails to connect.

The intentions are lofty enough, but Gandhi to Hitler has the feel of a Z-grade quickie destined to be quickly consigned to the dustbins of movie history. The concept is hare-brained and the execution ham-handed and that’s putting it mildly. One strand of the film – it deals with a group of runaway Indian soldiers stranded in Germany during the War – could have yielded a full-fledged drama. But Gandhi to Hitler botches up this sub-plot by throwing in a half-hearted love story about a young Gandhian wife pining for her absent warrior-husband and a raucous Holi song celebrating the three colours of the Indian flag. Like everything else in the film, it has no apparent rhyme or reason. Watch Gandhi to Hitler at your own risk.

What’s Good: Raghuvir Yadav’s performance. What’s Bad: The poorly conceived and written script; the pathetic direction and technical values; the absence of good music; the rather average performances. Verdict: Gandhi To Hitler will flop miserably.Watch or Not?: Only if you like taking risks with your time and money.

Chronicling -- or aspiring to and failing miserably -- the last days of Germany’s Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler (played by the overly emphatic Raghuveer Yadav), Gandhi To Hitler is seemingly ambitious.Gandhi To Hitler is rancid, futile and unnecessary to the past, present and future of sanity, let alone to cinema.Avoid this one at all costs.

It becomes incredibly complex for viewers to grasp as to what the film is trying to tell?It appears like Mahatma Gandhi’s efforts in the film with his followers is trying to add real value to the film, the focus seems to be shifting on painting a rather sympathetic, human portrait of the Nazi dictator, through letters written by Bapu to Hitler.Needless to say, the film tries to establish a superiority of Gandhism over Nazism, thereby giving the message of world peace. As if it was least expected!Over all, ‘Gandhi to Hitler’ would need a very patient audience.

The film from start to end is a tale that only confuses the viewer as it leads nowhere. From depiction to narration the film falls flat on expectations. It seems that it’s all about the heinous policies of Nazism and the heroism of Gandhian philosophy. The film is neither entertaining nor informative and as the never ending film moves on the audience wonders what’s up next?!

Gandhi to Hitler essentially shows us how these two men not only influenced one of the darkest moments in human history, but also how the new world order that followed was substantially altered in response to the sociopolitical viewpoints expressed by a beloved Indian and a despised German.By relying upon the common thread of one of the world’s most memorable events of the twentieth century, Gandhi to Hitler is able to parlay quite the interesting (yet eventually obvious) moral: it is much more preferable to live by the ideals of Gandhi instead of Hitler.Gandhi to Hitler does a good job of setting up not only the historical context but also why the ideas of two men -- 180 degrees apart from each other and not necessarily easy to relate to -- are still relevant to the very world we live in today.

  14. rating to negative main di jani chahiye ise, bike huye hain critics sare, positive main rate kar rahe hain.

  15. Raghuvir Yadav fails to look his part and is uncomfortable with dialogues in English. Censor board ne pass bhi kaise hone diya movie ko. It has completely downgraded the standards of Indian Cinema. Pity on the Director and the Writer.
